Exceleron Implements Enhanced Hybrid Cloud Offering
AWS Support Added to Private Cloud Options:
Dallas, TX — October 24, 2022 — Exceleron, North America’s leading utility prepay and payments services company, announced today that it has enhanced the MyUsage solution to support Amazon Web Services (AWS). Along with existing Tier-1 private cloud options, the MyUsage hybrid cloud offering provides utility customers greater flexibility and scalability. This will allow Exceleron’s utility customers to select the hosting option that best meets their security and back-office operating requirements.
“In 2004, Exceleron introduced the world’s first cloud-based, smart prepay offering and over nearly two decades we have continued to increase the robustness of the offering as we added utility customers” said Chase Venters, Chief Information Officer for Exceleron. “Although we started with a private cloud production environment with very specific security requirements, we have been using AWS for large scale load testing and microservice integration for the last five years, so the ability to host the entire MyUsage system on AWS is a natural extension of our operations. This provides our utilities with greater options with regards to redundancy, regional data storage, integration, and system bundling.”
Having evolved over time through market leading innovation to meet the growing needs of electric, water, gas and broadband utilities, the MyUsage platform is a suite of integrated modules that enables utilities to offer greater digital convenience and greater consumer choice to better satisfy their customers lifestyles. MyUsage currently supports integrated payment processing, prepay utilities, debt assistance, usage monitoring, electronic bill presentment, a customer messaging and IVR alert center, and meter data management.
Mr. Venters also added “The MyUsage solution has long supported single and multi-tenant options based on security and cost considerations with support for audited security and control sets to meet PCI DSS Level 1 and SOC2 Type 2 requirements. This was previously managed in a private cloud to ensure that we could provide the best combination of control and economics to our customers, but as our customer base expands internationally and public cloud solutions gain popularity with utilities, adding an AWS option is another tool we can leverage towards our goal of providing the best solution to any utility, anywhere.”
