2014 Exceleron Prepay Users Conference Highlights Industry Growth and Leadership

Dallas, Texas – October 15, 2014 — Eighty-five utility professionals representing 35 utilities in 17 states gathered at Exceleron’s Prepay Users Conference in Charleston, South Carolina to discuss prepay utility service programs and share best practices. The annual event, now in its sixth year, was organized by Exceleron Software, whose MyUsage suite of applications helps utilities launch cost-effective and convenient prepay electric service programs for their customers.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with this year’s MyUsage User Conference,” said Exceleron’s president and CEO, Bob Crenshaw. “Each year the participants bring new insights and a willingness to share their best practices. It’s great to see how our utility customers are drawing on their experiences to help each other grow their programs and make prepay utility services available to a growing consumer base.”

Participants attended a variety of interactive sessions and roundtable discussions designed to help utilities learn from each other’s experiences in implementing and growing prepay programs. In addition, more than 15 industry leaders participated in the Vendor Exposition, sharing information about products and services that complement MyUsage Prepay.

Exceleron’s User Advisory Board convened immediately after the Users Conference. The 10 members recapped the Users Conference and brainstormed future developments for MyUsage and related technologies.

“The MyUsage Users Conference is always a great opportunity for Ocala Utility Services to learn what other utility service providers are doing in terms of prepay accounts and share our own experience,” said Joe Noel, Chief Technology Officer for the City of Ocala, Florida. “This year, we presented one of the sessions about the benefits we’ve reaped from using MyUsage MDM, from reducing costs to identifying instances of line loss and possible theft while improving service reliability.”

This year’s MyUsage Users Conference had two Platinum Sponsors, Itron and Landis+Gyr, as well as three Gold Sponsors, Elster, Milsoft Utility Solutions, and Sensus. Silver Sponsors included Aclara, ATS, Cooper Power Systems by Eaton, Central Service Association (CSA), HD Supply, MoneyGram, Nighthawk, Point & Pay, Silver Spring Networks, Tantalus, and U.S. Payments.

“At Exceleron, we’re fortunate to have developed strong partnerships with many industry leaders in metering, smart grid infrastructure, and payment options,” said Jeff Severs, COO. “They not only sponsor our MyUsage Users Conference, but really support our customers throughout the year, helping them find the best solutions to grow their prepay programs and provide exceptional customer service.”
